Sholo Guti (16 Beads)

Sholo Guti is a traditional Indian strategy board game for two players. It is played on an 8x8 checkered board with 16 beads of two different colors, typically black and white. The objective of the game is to capture all of your opponent's beads or block them from moving.

Gameplay

The game begins with each player placing their eight beads on the two rows closest to them. Players take turns moving one of their beads one square forward, backward, left, or right. Beads can only move along the lines of the board, not diagonally.

If a bead lands on a square adjacent to an opponent's bead, it can capture that bead by jumping over it. The captured bead is removed from the board. Multiple jumps can be made in a single turn if possible.

Special Moves

* Tiger: A bead that reaches the opposite end of the board is promoted to a "tiger." Tigers can move two squares in any direction, including diagonally.

* King: If a tiger captures another tiger, it becomes a "king." Kings can move three squares in any direction.

Winning the Game

The game ends when one player captures all of their opponent's beads or blocks them from making any legal moves. The player who captures all of their opponent's beads wins the game.

Strategy

Sholo Guti requires strategic thinking and planning. Players must consider their own moves as well as anticipate their opponent's moves. Some common strategies include:

* Control the center: Controlling the central squares of the board gives players more mobility and options for capturing.

* Protect your king: Kings are valuable pieces, so it is important to protect them from capture.

* Create traps: Players can set up traps by placing their beads in positions where they can capture multiple opponent's beads.

* Block your opponent: By blocking your opponent's beads from moving, you can limit their options and force them into making mistakes.
