Briscola Tradizionale is a classic Italian card game that is played with a 40-card deck. The game is typically played by four players in two partnerships, but it can also be played by two or three players.

Objective

The objective of Briscola Tradizionale is to be the first partnership to score 61 points. Points are scored by taking tricks and by capturing certain cards.

Setup

To set up the game, the deck is shuffled and each player is dealt 10 cards. The remaining cards are placed face down in a pile in the center of the table. The top card of the pile is turned face up and placed next to it. This card is called the "briscola" card and it determines the trump suit for the round.

Gameplay

The player to the left of the dealer leads by playing a card. The other players must follow suit if they can. If they cannot follow suit, they may play any card, including a trump card. The highest card of the suit led wins the trick, unless a trump card is played, in which case the highest trump card wins.

The player who wins the trick collects the cards and places them face down in a pile in front of them. The player to their left then leads the next trick.

Scoring

Points are scored as follows:

* Tricks: Each trick taken is worth 1 point.

* Briscola cards: Capturing the briscola card is worth 10 points.

* Ace of trumps: Capturing the ace of trumps is worth 11 points.

* Seven of trumps: Capturing the seven of trumps is worth 1 point.

Winning

The first partnership to score 61 points wins the game. If both partnerships score 61 points in the same round, the partnership with the most tricks wins.
