Typology is a card game designed by Reiner Knizia for 2-4 players aged 10 and up. The game takes around 30 minutes to play.

Objective

The objective of Typology is to be the first player to collect five cards of the same type.

Setup

To set up the game, shuffle the deck of cards and deal 7 cards to each player. The remaining cards form the draw pile.

Gameplay

On your turn, you can do one of three things:

* Play a card: You can play a card from your hand face up on the table. If the card you play matches the type of any other card on the table, you can take all of those cards and add them to your hand.

* Draw a card: You can draw a card from the draw pile.

* Pass: You can pass your turn.

Types

There are six different types of cards in Typology:

* Animals

* Food

* Clothing

* Transportation

* Objects

* People

Winning

The first player to collect five cards of the same type wins the game.

Strategy

There are a few different strategies you can use to win Typology:

* Be aggressive: Try to play cards that match the types of cards that are already on the table. This will give you a chance to collect multiple cards at once.

* Be patient: If you don't have any cards that match the types of cards on the table, don't be afraid to draw cards. You may eventually draw a card that you can play.

* Bluff: Sometimes, it can be helpful to bluff. If you have a card that you can't play, you can try to play it anyway and see if anyone calls your bluff.

Variations

There are a few different variations of Typology that you can play. One variation is to play with a wild card. A wild card can be used to match any type of card. Another variation is to play with a discard pile. When you play a card, you can discard it to the discard pile instead of putting it back in your hand.
