Okta MFA

Okta Verify is a lightweight app that allows you to securely access your apps via 2-step verification, ensuring that you, and only you, can access your app accounts.

While you access your apps, you'll choose a 2-step verification method provided by Okta Verify to finish signing in. You can verify your identity using a push notification sent to your device (if enabled by your organization), a temporary 6-digit code, or biometrics (if enabled by your organization).

We do request permission to use your device camera so that you can scan a QR code when you enroll your device with Okta.

Overview

When you log in to an Okta-protected account, you'll receive a push notification on your device. Tap the notification to approve the login attempt. If you don't have access to your phone, you can use the OTP displayed in the Okta Verify app.

Setup

To set up Okta Verify, you'll need:

* A smartphone or tablet

* The Okta Verify app

* An Okta-protected account

1. Download and install the Okta Verify app from the App Store or Google Play.

2. Open the app and follow the on-screen instructions to create an account.

3. Link your Okta Verify account to your Okta-protected accounts by scanning a QR code or entering a verification code.

Use

When you log in to an Okta-protected account, you'll be prompted to verify your identity using Okta Verify.

* Push notification: If push notifications are enabled, you'll receive a notification on your device. Tap the notification to approve the login attempt.

* One-time passcode (OTP): If push notifications are not enabled or you don't have access to your phone, you can use the OTP displayed in the Okta Verify app. Enter the OTP in the login screen.

Additional Features

* Biometric authentication: Okta Verify supports biometric authentication, such as fingerprint or face recognition, for added convenience.

* Time-based one-time passcodes (TOTPs): Okta Verify can generate TOTPs, which are time-sensitive codes that can be used even without an internet connection.

* Recovery codes: Okta Verify provides recovery codes that can be used to access your account if you lose your phone or cannot receive push notifications.
