Nickel is a card game played with a standard deck of 52 cards. The game is played by two to four players, and the goal is to be the first player to get rid of all of their cards.

Setup

To set up the game, each player is dealt five cards. The remaining cards are placed in a pile in the center of the table. The top card of the pile is turned over and placed next to it to start the discard pile.

Gameplay

The player to the left of the dealer goes first. On their turn, a player can either play a card on the discard pile or draw a card from the draw pile.

To play a card, it must match the rank or suit of the card on top of the discard pile. If a player cannot play a card, they must draw a card from the draw pile.

If a player draws a card that they can play, they can play it immediately. If they cannot play the card, they must keep it in their hand.

Special Cards

There are two special cards in Nickel: the Ace and the Nickel.

* The Ace can be played on any card.

* The Nickel can be played on any card, and it forces the next player to draw five cards.

Winning

The first player to get rid of all of their cards wins the game. If the draw pile runs out and no one has won, the player with the fewest cards in their hand wins.

Strategy

There are a few basic strategies that can help you win at Nickel:

* Try to get rid of your low cards first. This will make it easier to match cards later in the game.

* Pay attention to the cards that have been played. This will help you guess what cards your opponents might have.

* Don't be afraid to draw cards. If you can't play a card, it's better to draw a card than to get stuck with a hand full of cards that you can't play.

* Use the special cards wisely. The Ace and the Nickel can be very powerful cards, but they should be used strategically.
