KWCH 12 News is a local news station serving the Wichita, Kansas area. It is owned by Gray Television and is affiliated with CBS. The station broadcasts from studios located in downtown Wichita.

History

KWCH 12 News began broadcasting on October 1, 1953, as KARD-TV. The station was founded by John Montgomery, who also owned KFH radio. KARD-TV was the first television station in Wichita and the second in Kansas.

In 1955, KARD-TV became an affiliate of CBS. The station changed its call letters to KWCH-TV in 1957.
