History
FOX Sports was founded in 1994 as a joint venture between News Corporation and Liberty Media. The company's first channel, Fox Sports Net, was launched in 1995. In 1997, FOX Sports acquired the rights to broadcast National Football League (NFL) games, and in 1998, it launched the FOX Sports World channel.
In 2000, FOX Sports acquired the rights to broadcast Major League Baseball (MLB) games, and in 2001, it launched the FOX Sports Net 2 channel. In 2004, FOX Sports acquired the rights to broadcast NASCAR races, and in 2006, it launched the FOX Sports Net 3 channel.
In 2011, FOX Sports acquired the rights to broadcast Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) events, and in 2012, it launched the FOX Sports 1 channel. In 2013, FOX Sports acquired the rights to broadcast Big Ten Conference football and basketball games, and in 2014, it launched the FOX Sports 2 channel.
