Feyenoord is a Dutch professional football club based in Rotterdam, Netherlands. Founded in 1908, it is one of the three traditional top clubs in the Netherlands, along with Ajax and PSV Eindhoven. Feyenoord has won 15 Eredivisie titles, 13 KNVB Cups, and four European Cups, including the 1970 European Cup, making them the only Dutch club to have won the prestigious continental competition.

History

Feyenoord was founded on July 19, 1908, as Wilhelmina Vooruit, named after Queen Wilhelmina of the Netherlands. In 1912, the club merged with HBS Craeyenhout and adopted the name Feijenoord, after the Feijenoord district in Rotterdam where they played their home matches. In 1974, the spelling of the club's name was changed to Feyenoord.

Stadium

Feyenoord plays its home matches at De Kuip (The Tub), a 51,575-capacity stadium located in the Feijenoord district of Rotterdam. The stadium was built in 1937 and has hosted numerous international matches, including the 1974 FIFA World Cup final.
