Objective:

The objective of Spades Plus is to be the first team to reach 500 points by taking tricks and bidding accurately.

Setup:

- Use a standard 52-card deck.

- 4 players form two partnerships, sitting opposite each other.

- Deal 13 cards to each player.

Gameplay:

- The player to the left of the dealer leads with any card.

- Players must follow suit if possible. If unable, they may play any card, including a spade.

- The highest card of the suit led wins the trick, unless a spade is played, in which case the highest spade wins.

- The player who wins the trick leads the next card.

Bidding:

- Before the first trick, each player bids on the number of tricks they believe their team will take.

- The minimum bid is 1, and the maximum is 13.

- The bids of each partnership are added together to form the team's total bid.

Scoring:

- Tricks Taken: Each trick taken counts as 10 points.

- Bags: If a team takes more tricks than they bid, they earn an additional 100 points per extra trick.

- Nil: If a player bids 0 and takes no tricks, their team earns 100 points.

- Sandbag: If a team takes fewer tricks than they bid, they lose 10 points per trick underbid.

Spades Plus:

- If a player plays the spade suit, they earn an additional 1 point for each spade in the trick.

- If a team bids and takes all 13 tricks, they earn a "Spades Plus," which is worth 200 points.

Winning:

- The first team to reach 500 points wins the game.

- If both teams reach 500 points in the same hand, the team with the higher score wins.
